I began photographing Robyn at 11 AM, while my primary second shooter, Lauren Eckard, was with the gentlemen. As can often happen, the ladies were running behind schedule after their prep went over an hour beyond schedule, but we were still able to make it work. We captured all the key pre-ceremony activities (the bridal party in robes, the first look with dad as well as the first look with the groom, the pictures with the dogs, etc.) without Robyn realizing just how badly we were off-schedule.
Wrightsville Manor Wedding
Once we had all the photos we needed, we headed to Wrightsville Manor and Gardens, a gorgeous property that makes you feel like you’ve been taken back in time. This stunning 1.25 acre property outside of Wilmington captures the charm and beauty of a bygone era. I would highly recommend this venue, with its French doors and its gorgeous veranda and garden, to anyone who wants a wedding that exudes elegance. The details at this venue are both elegant and classic, like the exposed brick on the walls and the light-filled conservatory. Not to mention, the veranda opens up into a gorgeous garden, complete with a fountain, making it perfect for indoor and outdoor events! Robyn and Clifton couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue.
During the ceremony, Robyn looked stunning in her ivory wedding dress with a light gold underlay. I’d already been impressed with how amazing she looked in the getting-ready pictures, but when Robyn walked down the aisle with Clifton smiling at her, I knew those were my favorite images of the whole day. The emotion was palpable.
After the ceremony, the family enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage tour around the venue, with each parent set riding with the couple. Then, the entire bridal party traveled to Carolina Beach, where they stopped for Britt’s Donuts and a quick moment on the beach.
I loved how important family was to Clifton and Robyn throughout the day. They were so close to their parents; you could see it so clearly when they were dancing with their respective parents. The bride and groom also wanted to make sure their dogs were part of the day. After all, they are definitely part of the family, too!
Clifton & Robyn, thank you for letting us be part of your amazing wedding. The love you share with your family was inspiring to see, and I know that love will carry you through your futures together!
