Weddings at the Proximity Hotel
The Proximity Hotel is a prestigious, AAA Four-Diamond luxury venue located in Greensboro, N.C. This premier boutique hotel first opened its doors in 2007. It has an adjacent restaurant called the Print Works Bistro. The hotel owners named both places after Greensboro cotton mills.
The Proximity is only four blocks away from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Its sister hotel, the O. Henry, is only four blocks away. It is the first facility in the hospitality industry to receive the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum rating.
Wedding Venue Spaces
The Proximity Hotel provides packages with inclusive pricing options. Their fees cover everything couples need to host weddings at the Proximity Hotel. Rentals include tables and chairs; setup and breakdown of rooms. Couples will also receive linens, floral centerpieces, votive candles, china, dance floors, wedding cake cutting, and event staff.
Couples won’t have to pay for additional rentals for their special day. Upgrades are also available to make the vision for your dream wedding come true. Here are four venue spaces that couples can choose from at the Proximity Hotel.
Many Proximity Hotel packages include access to the Social Lobby. This gathering place is an exceptional space for your guests to enjoy views of the hotel’s beautiful Bluebell Garden. The lobby’s gorgeous balcony, dramatic winding staircase, and tall columns also offer outstanding backdrops for lovely wedding day pictures.
The White Oak Room is the second-largest area at the hotel. It is perfect for medium-sized ceremonies up to 125 people or 96 for a sit-down dinner. The grand space received its name from Greensboro’s White Oak Plant, which housed one of the world’s biggest indigo dyeing and denim operations.
The 1,821 square-foot space has gigantic 11-foot ceilings. Couples can host a sophisticated cocktail mixer on its Social Lobby. Your party can separate the Social Lobby by using a cool glass wall with an automatic drape for more privacy.
The Latham Room is perfect for an intimate wedding of up to 40 people. This location draws its name from J.E. Latham, a prominent Greensboro broker. The 600-square-foot space is the smallest room at the Proximity Hotel. It can accommodate up to 40 guests for a reception or 24 for a sit-down dinner.
Couples will love this airy room’s 12-foot ceilings and nine-foot-tall windows. The area overlooks a tranquil, green garden. It has beautiful, natural lighting and a private entrance for guests. This place has excellent audiovisual capabilities and wall-mounted televisions.
Proximity Hotel Wedding Receptions
The Weaver Room is the Proximity Hotel’s largest, luxurious event space. This 2,600-square-foot area can accommodate up to 200 guests for a reception, and 150 people for a sit-down dinner. The premiere room can easily divide into a second, smaller space.
The impressive venue has 12-foot-high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests can also enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on its palatial, outdoor terrace. This area opens up to an airy, well-lit room that offers views of the hotel’s lovely Bluebell Garden and 2.5 acres of greenery.
The Weaver Room comes equipped with the latest, state-of-the-art technology. It has a built-in screen that can broadcast HDTV and an LCD projector.
The Proximity Hotel named the luxurious, Revolution Room after Greensboro’s Revolution Mills. This stately place has an outdoor terrace where couples can enjoy some fresh air after the ceremony. The beautiful space is exceptional for medium-sized weddings. It has large, 9×9 windows that allow natural lighting to permeate its space.
The regal location comes with an LCD projector and projection screen. Your guests can also enjoy drinks from the room’s classy wet bar. This area is perfect for a medium-size sit-down dinner up to 72 guests.
You can also consult with caterers from the adjacent Print Works Bistro. Their professionals can develop a seasonal, wedding-day menu for your wedding. They’ll also accommodate any special request your guests may have. Their beverage director can also design delicious cocktails or select tasty craft beers. They can also recommend a fabulous wine from their award-winning wine list.
