Mark and Camisha had an amazing New Year’s Eve wedding, with a ceremony and reception at Suite 300 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
My second shooter, Ariana Hurdle, began at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons with the groom and groomsmen. Meanwhile, I was downtown with the bride and her bridal party at the Proximity Hotel. We spent that time capturing details like the gown, jewelry, invitations, hair and makeup application, along with day-of bridal portraiture.
Camisha’s family and friends had a great time during the bridal prep, but my favorite moment was a quieter one. I was able to steal Camisha away for a few moments to get some bridal portraits done before the ceremony. As part of their superhero theme, Camisha was Storm. She certainly looked like an amazing weather goddess in her elegant gown. My favorite portrait genre is bridal portraiture, so capturing these bridal portraits for Camisha in advance of the ceremony was a highlight for me.
A Kress Terrace and Suite 300 Wedding
The setting was stunning and perfect for the gorgeous photographs every bride wants for a wedding. When working as a Greensboro wedding photographer, I love the stylish urban atmosphere offered by downtown venues like the Kress Terrace and Suite 300. Suite 300 is a downtown event space and it had so much to offer this wedding party. With details like soft gray fabric elegantly draped from the ceiling and glittering chandeliers, Suite 300 was the perfect backdrop for Mark and Camisha’s wedding. Suite 300 weddings are always unique since this downtown rental space also includes a dramatic entry waterfall wall and multiple different spaces for couples to personalize. It’s the perfect marriage of urban elegance. The party even spilled outside onto the Kress Terrace rooftop. Nishaka Proctor of Events by Nishaka is an amazing designer and transformed these spaces with so many unique details for Camisha and Mark to remember. I loved photographing the stunning centerpieces.
After a romantic ceremony, we adjourned to the reception. Another of my favorite moments from this wedding was the couple’s first dance. You could see the couple enjoy the moment alone even though they were surrounded by family and friends. In that moment, they were alone together. Since this wedding took place on New Year’s Eve, the party went until midnight. We all counted down to the New Year, and Mark and Camisha rang in 2018 by sharing a kiss as man and wife. That’s the best way to start a new chapter, a new year, and a new adventure!
I also wanted to leave share of the wonderful words that Camisha had for us on The Knot:
All I can say is wow! We found Dajuan and his team late into our wedding planning and close to the wedding, amazing is the only way I can describe him and his team! I’d had a not so great experience earlier in the year with another photographer and met him and his team in time for my bridals. I couldn’t believe it was me in the pictures, loved them. The wedding day was awesomeness! Mark and I couldn’t be more impressed with Dajuan and his team! Their vision for taking pictures, the ideas of the shot was on point. Our experience was so fluid, relaxing and smooth. Our pictures reveal was beautiful, never could I have imagined that every single picture taken would be awesome. There was not one picture we didn’t love! We recommend them 100 times over! Amazing is our experience and will be yours also! Thank you so very much!! You’ve given us so beautiful memories we will be able to cherish for a lifetime!
Thank you so much, Camisha and Mark. It was my pleasure to provide the wedding photography for what was truly an epic event.
