Isaac + Robin’s stylish Barclay Villa Wedding has been featured on Essence Magazine, A Princess Inspired, and Modern Weddings. According to the couple, “the night was nothing less than a memorable, classy and fun adult affair! During The J.Moss Affair, guest indulged in savory passed hors-d’oeuvres. Bartenders of On the Rocks Bartending got the party started with a high tier open bar. The servers of Cake Couture Boutique delivered bacon wrapped filet mignon and bourbon glazed salmon entrées. Many tried their taste buds at four moist & rich cake flavors by Ashley Cakes and ice cream dessert to delight. Plus, everyone enjoyed a flavorful champagne toast. Forget the traditional one song for all, our wedding party came out hype and ready to celebrate, rocking to their own individual track! Our father-daughter and mother-son dances continued the trend with no slow jams allowed; we got down to “Let It Whip” and “This Is How We Do It!” The sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity paid tribute to our union. Removing of the garter was a show like no other, our wedding game stirred laughs and really introduced the new Mr. & Mrs. Moss but the photo booth, dance floor and DJ Paradime of Cool Receptions were the champs of it all!”

Share with us how you two met:
We met in August of 2004 on the campus of Livingstone College while registering for classes.
Tell us about your proposal:
“Since I had never had a surprise birthday party in my life, I convinced Robin’s friends to persuade Robin to throw me a surprise 30th birthday! With her friends keeping her busy, I switched the occasion from the planning of a surprise birthday party to my planning her surprise proposal and engagement dinner for MY BIRTHDAY!!! No worries, I was confident my soon to be wife would say YES! The planning period was funny, as I had to track behind Robin to cancel all the plans she was making for me with the various parties. One company almost gave my whole surprise away when Robin called to do a follow-up! On the day of the proposal, I told Robin that my aunt had purchased me a helicopter tour around the city of Charlotte for my birthday. Curious, she asked what time would it be over because she had made dinner reservations. This was only the beginning of her surprise. We began the ride around Charlotte and midway through the pilot tells us to put on our blindfolds that were provided. He said that there was a surprise waiting for the both of us once we landed. I blindfolded Robin but never did blindfold myself. The helicopter landed at a disclosed location with our friends and family awaiting our arrival. I helped Robin out of the helicopter and guided her to the center of everyone where candles were arranged to spell out “Will You Marry me!” I removed the blindfold and the rest is memorable history!” ~Isaac Moss~
Let’s talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail (include dress & tux designer). What was wedding shopping like for you?
As a bride, I wanted to have a couture look that gave a serious wow factor! Also, a slight bit of sex appeal with overall class! It took me an entire year of traveling to various dress shops on the east coast, but I found my stunning ivory gown by designer Eve of Milady. The design of my dress was an ivory sweetheart hand-beaded bodice with matching straps. Fit and Flare silhouette and hand beaded motifs at the top of the layered skirt that complimented the hand beaded appliqué inserts atop. Keeping the skirt of my dress long and full allowed the various cuts and layers to flourish as I sashayed throughout the castle. I kept my wedding day ceremony shoes simple and elegant, choosing the rose gold SWEETEST by Steve Madden. Ceremony earrings were a mix of pearl and crystal, medium-sized studs. My veil was ivory in color and cathedral style with hand sewn and lined in silver sequined embellishment. Detail went from down the sides to the very back in full couture design that carried up into the middle of the veil. This was a gorgeous piece by Eve of Milady. During the reception, my look changed to a semi-sheer, white, long sleeve and floral lace designed dress with three sections of gathered lace overlay from top to bottom. This ensemble was accompanied by a white lace style bodysuit underneath and the chic FIOLLA shoes in color fuchsia by ALDO. I wore a white gold and diamond Neil Lane Key necklace. Cezanne silver and rhinestone chandelier earrings graced my reception look from wedding gown to second look.
As a groom, I wanted something custom and tailored to fit the look that I was going for. With a few options in mind, I narrowed it down to an Eaden Myles custom designed tuxedo. Eaden was highly recommended by one of my fraternity brothers. The tuxedo that I had envisioned was executed beyond belief by Eaden Myles. I wore a custom velvet double-breasted peak lapel Bordeaux jacket, with a custom designed tuxedo shirt, followed by a black velvet butterfly bowtie. To complete the look, I wore a pair of custom black Italian cut tuxedo trousers. Shoes were black velvet loafers from ALDO, jewelry consisted of a gold rope bracelet from Piercing Pagoda, diamond cut earrings from Jared the Gallery of Jewelry and a gold trim face with black leather strap watch by Nixon.
Tell us about your bridesmaids:
There were six Bridesmaids and one Maid of Honor. Three Bridesmaids are my line sisters. The other three are my closest friends and my Maid of Honor was my amazing sister! My Bridesmaids were absolutely beautiful! Their dresses were blush, strapless satin trumpet gowns by Hayley Paige and shoes of any designer in rose gold. Their jewelry consisted of chandelier, floral shaped crystal and rose gold accent earrings. Each ladies hair was a chic or classic bob and their makeup, by Brittani Hines Artistry was naturally becoming and classic to set a breathtaking entrance as they made their ceremony debut.
Tell us about his groomsmen:
There were five Groomsmen and two Best Men. All five Groomsmen are my closest friends or fraternity brothers. One of the Best Men is my best friend and the other is my closest fraternity brother. Their tuxedos were custom designed by Eaden Myles to consist of bordeaux with black lapel jackets and black tuxedo trousers.

Tell us about your ceremony venue and what attracted you to it?
We were looking for a venue that portrayed rich and unique style, plus class all in one! Barclay’s castle-like elegance of a home was the perfect wedding setting for The J.Moss Affair! We loved how this magnificent mansion was decorated with natural vintage beauty and ambiance of a European castle.
Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
Wedding decor was designed by Creative Touch Events. Demetris and his exceptional creativity took our vision of chandeliers, crystals, feathers, rose gold sequin, various style wedding color florals on regal rums, candles, lavish drapery and sheer sashes, uplighting, an array of complimenting linens, bling accessories and halo arrangements, to execute a beautiful regal look and ambiance. Gold, bordeaux and blush colored guest cards complemented for seating arrangements by Gracefully Made Art.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day? What is your best memory of your wedding?
Groom: For me was watching my beautiful Bride walk down the aisle.
Bride: Walking down the grand staircase as my husband’s eyes are fixated on his soon to be wife until I reach the altar. The only moment in our day that was amazingly slow in motion and mesmerizing.
Best memory was when the Groom did the removal of the garter only to make things a little interesting by pulling out from underneath the brides dress, a huge pair of women undergarments that were definitely too big for the bride! This brought a lot of laughter amongst our guest.
Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
We incorporated the Lighting of the Unity Candle as a part of our ceremony.
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration for your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?
We wanted to be king and queen for the day! Everything was centered on being glamorous, eye-catching and giving our loving guest the feeling and treatment of being “royal guest.” Our wedding colors were Blush, Bordeaux and Rose Gold.
What’s your favorite image from your wedding day and why?
We were captured walking down the aisle, leaving the ceremony and I’m looking up smiling as my husband is smiling and were holding hands and he is dancing! It was a moment that depicted exactly how happy we truly are!

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
Fresh florals were tall/lavish and low/lush mounds with feathers galore for the ceremony and reception centerpieces and sweetheart table, to include ivory and blush tones for stunning beauty. Rose petals of ivory, blush and bordeaux were arranged amongst the tables for upstairs seating, down the main staircase and on the sides of the ivory aisle runner. Bridesmaids carried beautiful fresh mounds of deep reds and blush with a touch of cream. Florals such as wine cymbidium orchids, roses, hydrangeas, and dahlias were incorporated with handles wrapped in navy blue. The Bride’s bouquet was a lush, hand tied, mound of fresh flowers to include roses, cymbidium orchids, and other seasonal fillers. The handle was wrapped with no stems showing to complement the wedding gown and featured a clean cuff of bling. Also, attached was a rose gold and rhinestone locket that holds a picture of the bride’s mother and the word mom, jewel assembled inside.
